Dr. Timothy P. Loughlin, PT, DPT, graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, being accepted into the honors program and graduating with a BS in Rehabilitation Science. He continued at Northeastern University completing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009. While attending Northeastern University, he completed three clinical rotations at outpatient clinics in Plymouth, MA, and in Peoria, AZ. He also completed his final clinical rotation at Charleton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA.
Upon graduation, he has worked at various outpatient clinics in Baltimore, MD, Washington, D.C., Boston, MA, and Providence, RI, regions, focusing on orthopedic and sports injuries, from the weekend warrior to professional and Olympic athletes, including professional ballet dancers, circus performers, triathletes, NFL athletes, and now, works closely with Bryant University athletes and staff. Dr. Loughlin was also a clinical instructor for the University of Maryland – Baltimore, Shenandoah University, Slippery Rock University, and Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, CA.
He returned back home to New England in Rhode Island in the winter of 2020, where he treats in the Smithfield and East Greenwich offices, offering the same orthopedic physical therapy and sports rehabilitation services to the greater Providence region that made him a preferred provider from physicians and surgeons from Massachusetts General Hospital, Hospital of Special Surgery, and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Loughlin’s treatment focuses on progressive, manual therapy and functional exercises to return patients to their previous level of function as quickly as possible. Dr. Loughlin believes in not only treating, but educating patients in conjunction with their rehabilitation to help reduce re-injury and other injuries, and maximize performance whether it is to return to driving a car or driving a golf ball. His continuing education includes but not limited to ACL reconstruction, cupping, blood flow restriction, advanced treatments in the foot and ankle, cervical and thoracic manual therapy, and dry needling.
Dr. Lowey has been a practicing Physical Therapist for over 8 years. Her undergraduate degree is in exercise physiology with clinical research is sports performance. Dr Lowey's vast experience is sports medicine has been extremely valuable in helping her patients recover from any injury.
Dr. Welt has been practicing for more than 21 years specializing in orthopedics. He has worked with and continues to work with hundreds of professional football, hockey, lacrosse, baseball and Olympic athletes. He also works with active children in all types of sports, and is often referred by many coaches and trainers. He is sought after for his unique ability to diagnose, treat, and return an athlete quickly back to their activity.
